This is a desert-like area where it's always night and the sand consists of ashes and soot. The only architecture here is the rubble that remains of the tower, and the only life is the pitch-black vulture who lives perched on a huge dead tree and watches over the area.
A golem used to live in a cave here. It had once been created to protect all life in that land, but by the end of the calamity that befell it, only the tree remained. It tried to protect the tree, but fell dormant. When it woke, the tree was dead.
The golem was somehow also the same entity as the tower.
Surrounding the remains of the tower is a sandstorm. Only the vulture can guide people through the sandstorm. Past the sandstorm are mountainous dunes. Past the dunes are a beach leading out to the ocean. Also, on that beach, somewhere among the cinder and rocks is dug a deep mine_shaft.
