Sophie was created to take over front once Kate was no longer needed. We had finally gone back to college and graduated, and had no life plan for after that point, especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and the simultaneous resurgence of fascism around that time. I believe, perhaps too optimistically, that Sophie and Kate have reconciled, and are now sharing front duty.
