I'm uncertain of when Alice formed or why. I only know what she holds: the bullying, the verbal abuse from my mother, and the suitcase incident(s). I was reintroduced to her when I accidentally broke her out of Singer.
Alice has four internal parts:
- the main part, who has finally come to terms, and is grieving calmly;
- Alice-III, who remembers the bullying, and is humiliated;
- Alice-II, who remembers the yelling, and hates herself;
- Alice-I, who remembers the suitcase incident(s), and… I can't really see into her emotional state, but I'm pretty sure she's not doing so hot.
When Alice was first broken out of Singer, she was brittle, but whole, and there was only one of her. She was in extreme distress. She spoke in my biological voice under our breath, rocked us back and forth, made us cry almost every day, and would not let us leave the house.
She experienced her suffering as persecution inflicted upon her by me. She had once told me:
I'm going to shatter like glass. Do you want me to shatter like glass? Do you want three more Alices on your hands? That's what you're going to get if you keep pushing me like this.
I tried to heed her warning. Apparently, I failed.
Shortly before her division into four pieces, I was able to determine her distress was because she mistakenly believed we were actually still being kept in the room where we'd been taken in that suitcase. My realizing this coincided with her realizing it was in fact not true, which is what finished dividing her into four.
