Self

(Namespace: plural glossary)

Type of term Possible type of headmate
Synonyms or near-synonyms Alter, core, facet, host, insider, original, part
Antonyms or near-antonyms Introject, thoughtform

A self is a headmate who is not sourced nor a thoughtform; in other words, a headmate who is native to the system, and was formed organically. A self is essentially any headmate whom the host, gestalt, or facade could reasonably refer to with the word “myself” or the phrase “my other self” and not be terribly off-base.

Different systems may experience selves in different ways, e.g. as facets, as parts, literally as versions of the host at different points in time or under different circumstances or with different attributes, or even as completely different people.
