Autoject

An autoject is an introject whose source itself originates from or does not exist outside the system. Fictive autojects are introjects originating from a system's own creative works or even simply their own daydreams, whereas factive autojects, sometimes called “doubles,” are introjects originating from other already-existing headmates.

Factive autojects are an especially common byproduct of syscovery. Many systems, particularly adaptive systems, are highly covert and strive to keep even their own constituent headmates oblivious to their systemhood; as such, once headmates are aware of each other and thus begin to form internal impressions of each other, those internal impressions can take on lives of their own and function to cover their more “real” counterparts back up again.
