A self is a [[headmate]] who is //not// [[source|sourced]] nor a [[thoughtform]]; in other words, a headmate who is //native// to the [[system]], and was formed organically. A self is essentially any headmate whom the [[host]], [[gestalt]], or [[facade]] could reasonably refer to with the word "myself" or the phrase "my other self" and not be terribly off-base.

Different [[system|systems]] may experience selves in different ways, e.g. as [[facet|facets]], as [[part|parts]], literally as versions of the [[host]] at different points in time or under different circumstances or with different attributes, or even as completely different people.
