An adaptive [[system]] is one which formed as an adaption to a scenario where being or remaining a [[singlet]] posed an existential threat. This includes most [[stressgenic]] and [[traumagenic]] systems, many [[neurogenic]] systems, and probably some systems scattered among other [[origin|origins]].
