This mine shaft can be used as a nexus to access several other locations in headspace, but it's subject to a supernatural mandatory curfew. Anyone still in a world they reached from the mine shaft once the mineshaft closes up for the night will be trapped forever in the world they reached.

[[headmates:Sophie]] and [[headmates:Kate]] apparently dug down through this place to bury the corpse of [[headmates:Singer]] in [[Hell]], if I'm correctly interpreting the dream that happened in. The [[news station]] in the [[mannequin city]] reported on the excursion.

I believe the mine shaft may be symbolic of the [[theories:redshift]] phenomenon, and by extension of headspace as a whole.
