 Both Daisy and May hold two types of trauma: repeated nonviolent molestation by our father and his cohorts, and sucking up to our mother to try to make sure she wouldn't yell at us. Both of them coped by shutting down into an eternal peaceful daydream. They are May when they are soundly secured within the daydream, totally unaware of their own pain, and believe they are happy, and Daisy when material leaks in or out or they are otherwise on the verge of waking up. Should they awaken fully, they seem to then pass off to Alice.
 For awhile, Daisy was in an intimate relationship with [[Lucy]]. This may have been ill-advised. Both of them had mixed feelings about it.
